The goal was to create a cozy atmosphere for this luxury holiday home, where guests can experience a truly refined Italian atmosphere. An atmosphere closely linked to the Tuscan countryside, balanced by iconic pieces of Italian design.
Each room has been carefully crafted as an independent system, with b612 studio having researched specific colors, materials and lighting fixtures, designed custom-made furniture, and selected every single piece of commercial furniture.
The idea of craftsmanship is also embodied by custom-made pieces of furniture which, designed specifically for this villa, were made by local craftsmen. The simple, minimal lines of their design help the materials, with their warmth and even imperfections, speak for themselves. All other commercially-made pieces of furniture have been carefully chosen to balance or contrast, from time to time, the interior design of each single room, such as the Vitra chairs in transparent plexiglass paired with the artisanal chestnut wood table.
Thus, the lighting project had two main goals: the first related to its design and led us to select pieces that are iconic and recognizable, which could create the refined atmosphere the customer was looking for. Quintessential lamps such as Achille Castiglioni’s Lampadina and Parentesi, or the String Light from Flos enrich the interior design of the rooms. The second goal for this lighting project was all about the atmosphere. b612 studio selected different types of fixtures, such as floor lamps, table lamps, suspension lamps, and combined them all in the same room, providing many small sources of light that can be calibrated to create the desired atmosphere.
